Hi my name is Isabella and I'm looking for a bit of financial help. I am very close to my grandmother,
she practically raised me when i was a child and I want to give a little something back to her. My
cousin is getting married in June 2008 and my grandmother would love to go back to Malaysia which
in a few years time may not even be possible due to her heart condition and her arthritis, however
due our current financial status we are unable to afford to send my mother and grandmother back
to Malaysia.
This year has been an unfortunate one for my grandmother due to the loss of her second son. It was
quite a traumatic experience for her and our family as my uncle had only gone into hospital for a
minor surgery and after 2 weeks, never came back. My uncle has been battling Parkinson’s for the
last 6 years of his life and we had to fight with the hospital to keep my uncle alive, which after the
third day they thought unnecessary and tried to insist us upon turning off his life support. Not only
was the death of my uncle tough, the funeral was celebrated on my 18th birthday which is also the
day before my grandmother’s 87th birthday and because of her beliefs she was unable to attend the
funeral as it is her belief that the elderly should not send the young into the grave.
For me this would be a way to give back to my grandmother everything she has given me. It is a
once in a life time chance for her to go back to Malaysia and I want to make it the most memorable
as it will probably be her last time. I want her to be able to visit her home town where she grew up
and got married, her first house with her husband, all the different houses she and her family moved
to and even a chance to visit old friends that she grew up with and hasn’t seen for decades. I would
love to give my grandmother this chance; however without your help on my own I am unable to give
my grandmother this chance of a lifetime, so if you could please lend a helping hand even a $1 would
help. I am looking to raise about $8000 to fly my grandmother business class, hotel accommodation
and transport to and from cities.
